Historical Background

THE DEEPER LIFE SCHOOL (The Gambia), comprises Nursery, Lower Basic or (Primary), Upper Basic (Junior) and Senior Secondary Sections. It is a Christian mission, co educational institution under the auspices of Deeper Christian Life Ministry.

The Nursery School which is the mustard seed of the institution was founded on 30th September, 1996 with an enrolment of eight children (4 boys 4 girls). On September 20 1999, the School added the Lower Basic section with an enrolment of 19 pupils. The demands of the parents for an Upper Basic school led to the establishment of the Junior Secondary school in September 2005 with an initial enrolment of 28 students.

The Upper Basic section of the school successfully gave birth to the Senior Secondary School on 13th October 2010 with an initial enrolment of 57 students. As at the beginning of the 2013/2014 academic session, the total enrolment for the entire school (Nursery to Senior Secondary) is 1,564. The school has 79 teaching and non-teaching staff on her payroll.

DEEPER LIFE CHOOL (DLS) The Gambia is a co-educational Christian Missionary School, under the auspices of the DEEPER CHRISTIAN LIFE MINISTRY (DCLM). We are committed to the holistic development of students.

We offer top-rate learning within a conducive environment for studies from pre-nursery up to senior secondary school. We engage educationally and morally qualified teachers and non –academic staff utilizing adaptable relevant technology. Our focus is the broad-based educational policy that positions the student competitively in the international community.

We are set to develop and train pupils to attain academic, moral and spiritual excellence that makes them nationally relevant and internationally competitive.
